How Emirates group flight tickets work

A group of travellers flying together on Emirates is booked as one group, but every person still travels on a ticket in their own name. Knowing how and when those tickets are issued helps the organiser collect names on time and avoid last-minute corrections.

From seats to e-tickets

Once the quote is accepted, the airline holds the agreed number of seats under one group booking.

Names sent by the deadline

The organiser sends every traveller's name exactly as on their ID, before the date the airline sets.

Tickets issued

Tickets are issued against those names, usually one e-ticket number for each passenger.

E-tickets shared

The e-tickets and booking reference go to the organiser to pass on to the group.

Getting the name list right

  • Use each traveller's name exactly as printed on the ID they will carry — first name and surname in the same order.
  • Mark children and infants clearly, with dates of birth where the airline asks for them.
  • Send the list in one file from the organiser, not from individual travellers.
  • Flag any name still pending so it can be planned around the ticketing deadline.
